Juca inicia a sua carreira de treinador
Esta foi a época em que Juca iniciou a sua carreira de treinador assumindo o comando da equipa de Juniores do Sporting, que no Campeonato Regional não foi além do 2º lugar nas duas fases da prova, sempre atrás do Belenenses, ficando assim afastada da Final. No Campeonato Nacional o Sporting ganhou a sua série mas depois ficou em 2º lugar na Zona Sul da 2ª fase, ficando assim novamente fora da Final.
Deste grupo de jogadores Alexandre Baptista, Aleixo, Monteiro, Carlos Manuel Faria e Álvaro Alexandre chegariam à equipa principal.
O Sporting voltou a apresentar uma equipa B na Campeonato Regional da 2ª Divisão de Juniores, vencendo as duas primeiras fases da prova com um total de 23 vitórias e apenas 1 empate. No entanto na Final os jovens Leões perderam surpreendentemente frente ao Vilafranquense.
No Torneio de Principiantes o Sporting não conseguiu chegar à Final, terminando a sua série em 2º lugar atrás do Atlético.
